Stalac TownStalac Town

The remains of an old Stalac town are called the Tower of Todor of Stalac, named after the main tower which dominates the hill along the Juzna Morava River. Epic poem connects this town to the duke Prijezda. The town was built in the ancient times (archaeological findings from Neolith Era are found), but it was restored and rebuilt during Prince Lazar rule in the middle ages as a sort of protection at the entrance to the Zapadna Morava Valley.

Koznik Town

Koznik Town

Medieval town of Koznik, known in Serbia for its exceptional position, is situated almost 10 km south-west of Aleksandrovac. The fortress was erected at the conical hill, at 922 m of altitude. The legend interlaces this town with Eirini Kantakouzini, who apparently ordered the construction of a town. Since reaching the top of the hill was very difficult, construction materials were transferred on goats’ horns. This is how the town got its name. (KOZA is a Serbian name for a goat).
